  • 1 pound Ground Beef or ground turkey or plant-based meat for a lighter option
  • 4 cups Cabbage shredded, fresh is ideal
  • 1 medium Onion diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced, fresh recommended
  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes with juice, fresh or canned
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika smoked paprika adds flavor
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil or any vegetable oil
  • to taste Chopped Parsley optional garnish

Preparation Steps
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add 1 diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Incorporate 2 minced garlic cloves and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Increase heat to medium-high and add 1 pound of ground beef. Cook for 6-8 minutes, breaking up with a spoon until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  4. Stir in 4 cups of shredded cabbage, cooking for about 5 minutes until it wilts but retains some crispness.
  5. Pour in 1 can of diced tomatoes, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce. Mix well, cover, and reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Taste the mixture and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
