  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.

  5. Fold in dark chocolate chips and crushed candy canes.
  6. Scoop the dough into rounded balls, placing them on the prepared baking sheets with 2 inches of space in between.
