Ingredients

For the Frosting
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter Ensure it’s well softened
  • 8 oz Pumpkin Flavored Cream Cheese Can substitute with regular cream cheese and pumpkin puree
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract Use pure vanilla for best flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Fine Sea Salt Skip if using sweetened cream cheese
  • 4 cups Powdered Sugar Adjust according to your preference

Equipment

  • electric mixer
  • Mixing bowl

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by placing your softened unsalted butter in a large mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer, beat the butter on medium speed for about 1-2 minutes until it's creamy and smooth.
  2. Next, add half of the pumpkin flavored cream cheese to the bowl with your beaten butter. Continue mixing until fully incorporated and smooth.
  3. Now, add the remaining pumpkin cream cheese, along with the vanilla extract and fine sea salt. Beat the mixture until well combined.
  4. Gradually add 2 cups of powdered sugar, beating on low speed until incorporated, then increase to medium speed for another minute.
  5. Check the frosting's consistency; if it’s too thin, add more powdered sugar one tablespoon at a time.
  6. If the frosting is too soft, place it in the refrigerator for about 15-30 minutes before using.
