Cocktail Preparation

  2. Simmer for 10 more minutes to thicken the syrup, stirring occasionally.
  3. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing strawberry solids.
  4. Prepare Cocktail: In a shaker filled with ice, pour in rye whiskey, Amaro Nonino (if using), lemon juice, and strawberry syrup.
  5. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds until the shaker is frosty.
  6. Strain into an ice-filled glass and garnish with a strawberry, lemon wedge, and twist of lemon peel.
