  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter softened
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 large Eggs room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon Almond Essence or vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
For the Frosting
  • 1 cup Cocoa Powder sifted
  • 4 cups Confectioners Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Milk or milk alternative
For Decoration
  • 1 cup Chocolate Cookies crushed
  • 1 cup Candy Eggs small varieties

Method
 

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat together unsalted butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in almond essence and vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt, then fold into the wet mixture.
  5. Spread the dough into the prepared dish and bake for 24 minutes until golden around the edges.
  6. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  7. Prepare the frosting by beating together butter and cocoa powder, then add confectioners sugar and milk.
  8. Frost the cooled bars and decorate with crushed cookies and candy eggs.
  9. Slice into squares and serve at room temperature.
