Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Smash Burger Tacos
  1. Start by dividing 1 pound of ground beef into 4 equal portions, shaping them into neat balls. Set aside while you prepare the taco base.
  2. Lay a large tortilla flat on a clean surface. Take one beef portion and spread it over the center of the tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges.
  3. Generously sprinkle salt and pepper over the beef side of the tortilla.
  4. Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes, adding a drizzle of oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Carefully place the tortilla meat-side down into the hot skillet. Gently flatten the beef with a spatula and cook for 2-3 minutes until the edges turn golden brown.
  6. Once the edges are crispy, use the spatula to flip the taco over. Immediately place a slice of cheese on top and continue cooking for another 1-3 minutes until the cheese melts.
  7. Transfer the cooked taco to a warm plate and cover to keep it hot. Repeat the cooking steps with the remaining tortillas and ground beef.
  8. Spread your favorite burger sauce on each taco. Then, top with shredded lettuce, chopped onions, and pickles.
  9. Serve your Smash Burger Tacos hot and crispy straight from the skillet.
