Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Combine the warm milk, sugar, and active dry yeast in a small bowl and let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt, then add the yeast mixture, butter, and sage. Mix until the dough begins to form.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Shape the dough into a ball and let it rise in a lightly oiled bowl covered with a kitchen towel for about 1 hour.
  5. Once risen, punch down the dough, divide into 12 pieces, and shape into balls. Place in a greased baking dish.
