  • 4 pieces Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups Coarsely crushed pretzels gluten-free pretzels work too
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour opt for gluten-free flour if needed
  • 2 large Eggs beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
For the Mustard-Cheddar Sauce
  • 1/3 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese or Gruyère or pepper jack
  • 1/2 cup Milk or half-and-half
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Method
 

Preheat Oven
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Set Up Coating Station
  1. Set up three shallow bowls: one with all-purpose flour, one with beaten eggs mixed with Dijon mustard, and one with coarsely crushed pretzels.
Coat the Chicken
  1. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip it in the egg mixture, and then press it into the crushed pretzels. Let rest for 10 minutes.
Bake the Chicken
  1. Place coated chicken on the parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for about 25 minutes.
Prepare Mustard-Cheddar Sauce
  1. Combine shredded cheddar, milk, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce in a saucepan over low heat, whisking until smooth.
