Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. In a stand mixer, combine all-purpose flour, sugar, instant yeast, warm milk, melted butter, and salt. Mix on medium speed for 4–5 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  2. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 30–60 minutes until doubled in size.
  3. Preheat your oven to 450°F. Punch down the dough, divide into 12 pieces, and roll each into ¾-inch thick ropes; cut into 1–2 inch bites.
  4. In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil, then stir in ¼ cup of baking soda. Soak pretzel bites for 30 seconds.
  5. Transfer the soaked pretzel bites to a lined baking sheet. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse salt.
  6. Bake for 12–14 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
  7. Serve warm with honey mustard dip or your favorite sauce.
