Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add 1 pound of ground turkey, breaking it up with a spatula and cooking for about 6-8 minutes until browned.
  2. Reduce heat to low and mix in 1 teaspoon each of salt, pepper, ground cumin, paprika, garlic powder, chili powder, onion powder, and dried oregano. Stir well and cook for about 2 minutes.
  3. In a small saucepan, add 1 can of black beans on low heat, seasoning with a pinch of salt and cooking for about 5 minutes until heated.
  4. Cook 1 cup of white rice according to package instructions, fluffing after cooking. Set aside.
  5. Assemble the bowls with a base of rice, followed by seasoned ground turkey and warmed black beans.
  6. Add your choice of toppings and serve immediately or let others customize.
