Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Whisk in 4 tablespoons of flour for about 2 minutes to form a smooth roux. Gradually add 3 cups of milk while whisking until thickened, about 5 minutes. Stir in 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard and a pinch of nutmeg.
