Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a bowl, combine hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, Chinese cooking wine, dark soy sauce, white sugar, sesame oil, and white pepper. Whisk together until well mixed and set aside.
  2. Heat a large skillet over high heat and pour in a tablespoon of your chosen neutral oil. Add minced garlic and finely chopped onion. Sauté for approximately 1 minute until fragrant and translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula. Continue cooking for about 4-5 minutes until browned.
  4. Pour the prepared sauce mixture over the browned beef in the skillet. Stir well to coat and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Stir through the sliced shallots for about 1 minute. Serve the beef stir fry over rice or cauliflower rice, garnishing with additional shallots and sesame seeds.
