Ingredients

For the Sandwich
  • 2 slices Thick White Bread Use a crusty French loaf or artisanal bread for added flavor.
  • 2 oz Goat Cheese Crumble for creamy richness and tanginess; feta works well as a substitute.
  • 2 oz White Cheddar Shredded for melting beautifully and adding sharp flavor; mozzarella can be a milder taste.
  • 2 tablespoons Liquid Honey Divided; sweetens and balances the savory.
  • 3 tablespoons Butter Melted for a rich, crispy exterior; mayonnaise can enhance crispiness.
  • teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes More or less to taste; can use fresh chilis for more heat.

Equipment

  • skillet
  • Small saucepan
  • Bowl
  • Brush

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat, adding ⅛ teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Let the mixture simmer gently for about 5 minutes.
  2. Transfer the infused butter to a small bowl and brush one side of each slice of thick white bread generously with the melted butter mixture.
  3. Place a clean skillet over medium heat to warm up. Lay one slice of bread butter-side down into the skillet.
  4. Sprinkle 2 ounces of crumbled goat cheese and 2 ounces of shredded white cheddar over the slice of bread. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of liquid honey on top.
  5. Place the second slice of bread on top of the cheese, ensuring the buttered side faces out. Gently press down.
  6. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook the sandwich for 5-7 minutes on medium heat, keeping an eye on the bread.
  7. Once cooked, remove the lid and drizzle the remaining tablespoon of honey over the top. Slice the sandwich in half and serve it warm.
