Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until combined.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and butter. Heat until melted and smooth.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until fluffy.
  5. Slowly add the cooled chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, then alternate dry ingredients and root beer.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 35-40 minutes.
  7. Cool the brownies in the pan on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Beat together softened butter and confectioners' sugar, then add root beer and root beer extract for frosting.
  9. Spread the frosting on the cooled brownies, cut into squares, and serve.
