Ingredients

  • 3-4 bags Black Tea Bags Can also use green or decaffeinated varieties.
  • 2 cups Water Ensure to let it cool before mixing.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice Preferably fresh, but bottled works in a pinch.
For Serving
  • Ice Cubes Larger cubes slow down dilution for longer enjoyment.
  • Mint and Sliced Strawberries Optional garnishes for visual appeal and freshness.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Wash and slice 2 cups of fresh strawberries. In a saucepan, combine with 1 cup granulated sugar and 1 cup water. Cook over medium heat for about 30 minutes until syrupy and fragrant. Strain and cool to room temperature.
  2. While the syrup cools, boil 2 cups of water. Remove from heat, add 3-4 tea bags, and steep for 5 minutes. Remove bags and stir in 1/4 cup granulated sugar until dissolved. Set aside to cool.
  3. Combine cooled strawberry syrup with brewed tea in a large pitcher. Add 2 cups of cold water and 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice. Stir thoroughly.
  4. Fill tall glasses with ice cubes. Pour the Strawberry Iced Tea over the ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves and sliced strawberries.
