Muddy Buddy Rice Krispies Instructions
- Begin by placing 1 cup of chocolate chips and 1 cup of creamy peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the mixture in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until it becomes smooth and glossy, taking around 1 to 2 minutes total.
- Once your chocolate-peanut butter mixture is smooth, stir in 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Continue to microwave for an additional 15 seconds if the butter doesn’t melt completely.
- In a large mixing bowl, add 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal. Pour the warm chocolate-peanut butter mixture over the cereal, gently fold the mixture until the Rice Krispies are evenly coated.
- Prepare a lined 9x13-inch baking sheet with parchment paper. Transfer the coated Rice Krispies mixture onto the sheet and allow to cool for about 15-20 minutes.
- Once the mixture is set, transfer it to a resealable bag along with 1 cup of powdered sugar. Seal the bag and shake vigorously until all pieces are evenly coated.
- Pull the set Muddy Buddy Rice Krispies from the baking sheet and cut them into squares or break them into bite-sized pieces.
