Prepare the Chicken
- Start by rinsing your whole chicken under cold water to cleanse it. Pour boiling water over the chicken to sanitize and remove impurities. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.
Create the Marinade
- In a mixing bowl, combine the light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, Shaoxing wine, honey, and white pepper. Whisk until well-blended and coat the chicken.
Prep the Aromatics
- Slice the ginger and smash the garlic cloves. Layer them with the chopped green onions in your rice cooker pot.
Arrange the Chicken
- Place the marinated chicken on top of the aromatics in the rice cooker and drizzle leftover marinade over it.
Cook the Chicken
- Set your rice cooker to standard mode and cook for 45 minutes to 1 hour, flipping halfway through.
Let It Rest
- After cooking, turn off the rice cooker and let the chicken rest for a few minutes.
Serve and Enjoy
- Carve the chicken into pieces and serve over jasmine rice or noodles, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
