Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a bowl, mix together plain yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt until well combined.
  2. Cut boneless chicken thighs into even pieces and add them to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  3. In a large, heavy-bottomed pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add finely chopped large onion and sauté until golden brown, about 8–10 minutes.
  4. Stir in minced garlic cloves and grated ginger into the pan. Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Add the marinated chicken to the pan, spreading it evenly. Sauté for 8–10 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Pour in the tomato puree, stirring it into the chicken mixture. Lower heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
  7. Reduce the heat to low and gradually mix in heavy cream, stirring until creamy. Let it simmer for an additional 5–7 minutes.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with freshly chopped cilantro.
