  • 1 cup Fresh Mint Leaves Adds a refreshing herbal note; spearmint is recommended for a milder flavor.
  • 2 Limes Limes Offers acidity and freshness; essential for the mojito flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar Sweetens the drink; adjust the amount to taste or substitute with honey or agave syrup.
For Serving
  • Ice Ice Cubes Cools the drink; necessary for serving chilled.
  • 1 splash Optional Rum For a spirited variation of the Mint Mojito Iced Tea Recipe.

Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Heatproof Container
  • Muddler

Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Begin by boiling 1 cup of water in a small saucepan. Once it reaches a rolling boil, remove it from heat, add half of the fresh mint leaves, and cover the pot. Let it steep for 5 minutes.
  2. After the mint has steeped, add two green tea bags to the infused mint water. Allow the tea bags to steep for another 3 minutes, then strain the tea into a heatproof container.
  3. Next, add 1 cup of cold water to the strained tea to help lower the temperature. Stir gently, and then place the tea in the refrigerator to chill for about 15 minutes.
  4. While the tea cools, prepare your serving glasses. Cut 1 lime into 8 wedges for each glass and place them in the bottom. Add a spoonful of sugar over the lime, then introduce the remaining fresh mint leaves.
  5. For those desiring a spirited twist, this is the moment to pour a splash of rum over the muddled mint and lime mixture in each glass.
  6. Fill each glass with ice cubes, then pour the chilled mint-infused tea over the ice.
  7. Garnish your Mint Mojito Iced Tea with extra sprigs of mint and a slice of lime on the rim of each glass. Serve immediately.
