Ingredients

For the Dough
  • 2 cans Refrigerated Crescent Rolls Puff pastry can be used for an extra flaky texture.
For the Filling
  • 8 oz Sliced Ham Turkey or chicken is a lighter substitute.
  • 4 oz Sliced Salami Use peppered turkey or roast beef for a change.
  • 8 oz Sliced Provolone Cheese Mozzarella or cheddar can also work well.
  • 4 oz Sliced Pepperoni Swap in vegetarian pepperoni for a meatless option.
  • 1/2 cup Banana Pepper Rings Sliced jalapeños can add heat.
  • 1/2 cup Roasted Red Peppers Fresh bell peppers can be a tasty alternative.
  • 1 tbsp Italian Seasoning Consider replacing with dried basil, oregano, and thyme.
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese Nutritional yeast makes for a great dairy-free alternative.
For Topping
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil Melted dairy-free butter works for a non-dairy option.

Equipment

  • Oven
  • 9x13-inch baking dish

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or butter.
  2. Unroll one can of refrigerated crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the greased baking dish, sealing any seams.
  3. Layer the sliced ham, salami, provolone cheese, and pepperoni over the crescent roll base. Sprinkle banana pepper rings and roasted red peppers on top.
  4. Sprinkle Italian seasoning evenly over the fillings and top with grated Parmesan cheese. Drizzle olive oil over everything.
  5. Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and place it over the filling, sealing the edges tightly.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the dough is cooked through.
  7. Let the bake cool for about 5 to 10 minutes before serving. Optionally, top with fresh lettuce and tomato slices.
