  • 1 tablespoon Toasted Sesame Oil Swap for avocado oil to make it nut-free.
  • 1 tablespoon Seasoned Rice Vinegar Use apple cider vinegar if needed.
  • 2 sheets Crushed Seaweed Sheets Optional for added umami flavor.
For the Filling
  • 1 cup Bulgogi (or) Canned Salmon Feel free to use cooked meat or tofu.
  • 1 tablespoon Japanese or Korean Mayo Regular mayonnaise or yogurt can be used alternatively.

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 teaspoon of toasted sesame oil. Sauté finely chopped zucchini and carrots for 3-4 minutes until soft.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cooked rice, sautéed vegetables, remaining sesame oil, and rice vinegar, mixing thoroughly.
  3. Scoop 2 tablespoons of rice mixture, flatten it, add filling at the center, and mold into a compact ball.
  4. Repeat until all components are used. Cover finished rice balls with a damp cloth to keep moist.
  5. Serve fresh or wrap in plastic wrap and store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
