For the Toppings

  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese Fresh mozzarella recommended
  • 4 oz Prosciutto Add in the last few minutes of baking

  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil Optional, enhances flavor

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Pizza Peel or Baking Sheet
  • Rolling Pin

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 500°F (or 450°F for pizza stone). Allow it to heat for at least 30 minutes.
  2. On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a thin circle about 12 inches in diameter.
  3. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet or pizza peel lined with parchment paper. Spread a generous layer of fig preserve over it, leaving a ½-inch border.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the fig preserve, ensuring good coverage.
  5. Bake the pizza for 7 to 9 minutes until the cheese bubbles and the crust is golden.
  6. In the last 2 to 3 minutes, sprinkle the prosciutto over the pizza.
  7. Once done, remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, cut into wedges and serve warm.

Notes

Opt for fresh pizza dough for better texture, spread fig preserve lightly for ideal crust balance, and allow cooling before slicing for cleaner cuts.
