Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions, stirring in chocolate chips until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth, then blend in the pumpkin puree, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract.
  4. Spread three-quarters of the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
  5. Layer the pumpkin mixture over the brownie batter smoothly.
  6. Spoon dollops of the remaining brownie batter on top and swirl gently with a knife.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely in the pan.
  8. Lift from the pan using the parchment overhang, cut into squares, and sprinkle with flaky sea salt before serving.
