- In a mixing bowl, cream the softened unsalted butter on low speed for about 30 seconds, then mix on medium speed for about 2 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Slowly add powdered sugar and mix on low speed to prevent a sugar cloud. Increase speed to medium and beat for an additional 1 minute.
- Incorporate the pistachio butter (or paste), vanilla or almond extract, and a pinch of salt, mixing on medium speed for 1 minute.
- To adjust consistency, add cream or milk as needed; mix on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form.
