Step-by-Step Instructions
- Begin by chopping high-quality white chocolate into small pieces for even melting. Use a double boiler or microwave to melt the chocolate slowly.
- In a separate mixing bowl, add softened cream cheese, freshly grated orange zest, orange extract, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Gradually incorporate the powdered sugar and a pinch of salt, ensuring everything is well combined.
- Gently fold the cooled melted white chocolate into the cream cheese mixture until fully combined.
- Transfer the truffle mixture into a clean bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Use a small cookie scoop to scoop out portions and roll into smooth balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
- If desired, melt additional white chocolate for dipping or prepare a plate of orange sanding sugar. Coat the truffles as preferred.
- Return the coated truffles to the refrigerator for another 30 minutes to set.
