Preparation Steps
- Warm the milk to 110°F and sprinkle the active dry yeast on top. Stir and let sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a mixing bowl, sift the flour, then whisk in the sugar and salt. Mix in the cubed butter until it resembles pea-sized crumbs.
- Combine the eggs and the yeast mixture, mixing until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Alternatively, use a stand mixer.
- Grease a large bowl, place the dough inside, cover and let rise for about 1 hour or refrigerate overnight.
- Mix together softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the filling.
- For the topping, beat melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add maple syrup, cream, vanilla, salt, and cornstarch.
- Roll out dough into a rectangle, spread filling, roll up, and cut into six pieces.
- Place pieces in a greased pan and let them rise for another 20 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F and bake for about 28-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool for 10 minutes, then invert onto a serving board and serve warm.
