Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Gather all ingredients.
  2. Melt ½ cup of butter, 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of dark corn syrup, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract in a medium saucepan over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool for 10 minutes. Then whisk in 3 eggs.
  4. Fold in 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips and 1 cup of pecan halves.
  5. Pour the filling into the prepared 10-inch pie crust.
  6. Bake in the center of the oven for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes, until the center is set with a slight jiggle.
  7. Cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
