  • 1 inch Fresh Ginger Washed and peeled, sliced or grated.
  • 0.5 cups Honey Natural sweetener, alternatives include agave or cane sugar.
For the Lemonade
  • 1.5 cups Water For steeping ginger.
  • 3-4 cups Fresh Lemon Juice Avoid bottled juice.
  • 2.5 cups Cold Water To mix with ginger syrup.
For Serving
  • 3-4 cups Ice Cubes To keep the lemonade chilled.
  • Optional Garnish Lemon slices, fresh mint, or ginger slices.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Wash and peel fresh ginger, then slice or grate it.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine sliced ginger with 1.5 cups of water, bring to a boil, then simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and steep for 10 to 20 minutes.
  4. Add honey and stir until dissolved, then strain liquid through a fine mesh strainer.
  5. In a large pitcher, mix ginger syrup with 2.5 cups of cold water and the juice from 3-4 lemons.
  6. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices or mint.
  7. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
