  • 4 cups Water To soften fruit
  • 1 large Lemon Fresh
  • 4 cups Granulated Sugar For sweetness
  • 1.75 oz Fruit Pectin Can use low-sugar pectin
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt Enhances flavor

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Oranges: Wash and thinly slice 4 large, ripe oranges, removing any seeds.
  2. Prepare the Lemon: Wash and thinly slice 1 fresh lemon, also removing the seeds.
  3. Combine Ingredients: In a large pot, combine sliced oranges, lemon, and 4 cups of water. Soak for 6-8 hours or overnight.
  4. Cook the Fruit: Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over medium heat, then simmer for 30 minutes.
  5. Add Sugar and Pectin: Stir in 4 cups of sugar, salt, and 1.75 oz of pectin, then boil again.
  6. Check for Doneness: Boil for 10-15 minutes until gel-like consistency is achieved.
  7. Jar the Marmalade: Pour into sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch of space, and seal while hot.
