Step-by-Step Instructions
- Begin by removing the crusts from each slice of white sandwich bread. Using a rolling pin, gently flatten each slice to about ¼ inch thick.
- In a small bowl, combine 3 tablespoons of melted butter, 3 tablespoons of brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon. Mix until smooth, then spread an even layer of this filling over each slice.
- Tightly roll each slice of bread from one end to the other, applying gentle pressure to seal the edges.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together 3 large eggs, 1 tablespoon of milk, ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add 2-3 tablespoons of butter. Dip each roll in the egg mixture and place them seam-side down in the skillet.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy all over.
- Transfer the roll-ups to a serving plate. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with maple syrup, and serve hot.
