Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Beef: Cut beef stew meat into 1 to 1.25-inch pieces and coat with all-purpose flour. Set aside.
  2. Sear the Beef: Heat vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat, add beef in a single layer, and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.
  3. Add Flavor Base: Deglaze the pot with red wine, scrape the bottom, stir in minced garlic and dried thyme, and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Incorporate Vegetables and Broth: Add onion, carrots, mushrooms, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and diced tomatoes. Bring to boil.
