Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8-inch baking dish.
- Combine 1 cup of water and ¼ cup of unsulphured molasses, stirring gently until dissolved.
- Whisk together all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
- Create wells in the dry mixture for adding wet ingredients.
- Pour the molasses-water mixture over the dry ingredients and mix gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 35 minutes.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before serving.
