Basic Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a heatproof bowl over a simmering saucepan, melt butter, semi-sweet chocolate, brown sugar, and granulated sugar, stirring until glossy and smooth. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition until the batter is smooth.
- Stir in cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until fully combined.
- Gently fold in flour until just combined, leaving a few streaks visible.
- Transfer batter to the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle a generous layer of M&M's on top.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until set with a slight crackle on top.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
