Method
 

Marinating and Coating
  1. In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Add chicken thighs, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a shallow dish, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Set up near frying area.
Frying the Chicken
  1. Pour vegetable oil into the skillet, heat to 350°F. Test oil with a pinch of flour.
  2. Add coated chicken thighs to hot oil. Fry for 10-12 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
Making the Waffles
  1. Preheat waffle iron. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and baking powder. In another bowl, mix eggs, milk, and oil.
  2. Fold wet mixture into dry ingredients until just combined.
  3. Pour batter into waffle iron, cook until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.
Serving
  1. Serve a waffle topped with fried chicken, drizzle with syrup, and add berries or whipped cream if desired.
