Preparation Steps
- Make the Buttercream: Whip 350g unsalted butter for 1 minute until creamy. Gradually add 600g icing sugar, mixing for 3-5 minutes until smooth and fluffy.
- Add Flavoring and Color: Mix in 1-2 tablespoons double cream, ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract, and a splash of yellow food coloring. Beat until combined.
- Layer the Cake: Place the first sponge layer on a cake board. Spread buttercream over it, repeat with remaining layers. Coat the entire cake with a thin layer of buttercream and chill for 30 minutes.
- Prepare the Chocolate Drizzle: Melt 100g chocolate with 2-3 teaspoons oil in the microwave, stirring until smooth. Allow to cool slightly.
- Finish Cake Decoration: Apply a second layer of buttercream. Drizzle cooled melted chocolate around edges, letting it drip.
- Decorate with Mini Eggs: Pipe swirls of buttercream on top and add mini Easter eggs for decoration.
