Baking Instructions

  2. Mix together all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt in a bowl until evenly blended.
  3. Cream the softened unsalted butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large bowl until fluffy and pale.
  4. Add large eggs, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Add a few drops of pink gel food coloring to the wet mixture and stir gently until evenly distributed.
  6. Gradually mix in the dry ingredient blend until a thick cookie dough forms.
  7. Fold in the finely chopped maraschino cherries and semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  8. Scoop golf ball-sized portions of dough onto the baking sheet, pressing extra chocolate chips and cherry pieces on top.
  9. Bake for 10-13 minutes, until set around the edges but still soft in the center.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for about 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
