Step-by-Step Instructions for Apple Fritter Bites
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, ½ teaspoon of kosher salt, and 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ¼ cup of melted unsalted butter and ¼ cup of granulated sugar, stirring until smooth. Add 1 egg, ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract, and ½ cup of applesauce.
- Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
- Gently fold in 1 ½ cups of finely diced apples into the batter.
- Scoop the batter with a tablespoon onto the prepared baking sheet, aiming for around 12 bites.
- Bake for approximately 10 minutes until lightly golden.
- While the fritters bake, whisk together 2 cups of powdered sugar and 1/3 cup plus 2 tablespoons of apple cider.
- After baking, brush the warm glaze over each fritter, then broil for 2 to 4 minutes.
- Allow the fritters to cool on the baking sheet for about 15 minutes before serving.
