Ingredients
  

Chocolate Cake
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 3/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Oil (Canola or Vegetable)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Boiling Water
Cheesecake and Mousse Layers
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Unflavored Gelatin
  • 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
Ganache
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1/2 cup White Chocolate Chips
Decoration
  • 1/2 cup Mini Chocolate Chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients then add wet ingredients and mix until smooth.
  3. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 15-18 minutes.
  4. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and cool completely.
Mousse Layers
  1. Beat cream cheese with powdered sugar for both vanilla and chocolate mixtures.
  2. Bloom gelatin, then whip heavy cream and fold into both cream cheese mixtures.
Assembly
  1. Spread chocolate mousse over the cooled cake, then layer vanilla mousse on top.
  2. Chill the assembled cake for at least 1 hour.
Ganache Preparation
  1. Heat cream and butter, pour over chocolate chips, stir until smooth.
  2. Pour ganache over the chilled cake and decorate with white chocolate ganache.
Final Chilling
  1. Refrigerate the decorated cake for at least 30 minutes before serving.
