Step-by-Step Instructions for Tofu and Vegetable Patties
  1. Begin by draining the extra firm tofu and pressing it under a weight for about 15 minutes to remove excess moisture. Once pressed, crumble the tofu into a large mixing bowl.
  2. In a strainer, combine the shredded carrot and cabbage, then sprinkle a pinch of salt over them. Allow the mixture to sit for 8-10 minutes; squeeze the vegetables to remove excess liquid.
  3. In the bowl with the crumbled tofu, add the squeezed carrot and cabbage, minced garlic, and diced onion. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until they are well combined.
  4. Take a handful of the mixture and shape it into small patties or your desired size, pressing gently to ensure they hold together. Place the patties onto a parchment-lined tray.
  5. Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat and add a light coat of neutral cooking oil. Fry the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Remove the patties from the pan and place them on paper towels to absorb excess oil. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
