Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 200°F (93°C) to keep the chicken warm while cooking.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place a cooling rack on top.
  3. Whisk together egg whites, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt until fluffy. Coat chicken pieces in the mixture and marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet or wok to 350-360°F (177-182°C).
  5. Fry marinated chicken in batches for 3-4 minutes per batch until golden brown.
  6. Remove fried chicken and place on the prepared baking sheet to keep warm.
  7. Combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and black pepper in a pot over medium heat. Simmer for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
