Cooking Instructions
- In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat until foamy.
- Add one diced medium onion and sauté for approximately 5 minutes until soft and golden brown.
- Toss in 10 ounces of thinly sliced cremini or button mushrooms and cook for about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 tablespoon of sweet paprika, and 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika, toasting for about 30 seconds.
- Sprinkle in 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour while stirring, then gradually add 1 cup of vegetable broth.
- Let it simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens beautifully.
- Lower the heat and gently mix in ¾ cup of sour cream until smooth.
- Taste and season with salt and pepper to your liking.
- Serve your Hungarian Mushroom Paprikash over cooked noodles or alongside crusty bread.
