- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and unsalted butter. Blend until creamy, about 2–3 minutes.
- Gently fold in the shredded sharp cheddar cheese until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add the all-purpose flour, salt, and optional garlic powder. Combine until a dough forms, around 3–4 minutes.
- Cover the dough tightly and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Scoop the dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on a baking sheet.
- Create a small indentation in the center of each dough ball with your thumb.
- Fill each indentation with about ½ teaspoon of hot pepper jelly.
- Bake for 13-15 minutes until golden edges appear.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
