Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the lean ground beef and diced onion. Cook for 7-10 minutes until browned and onions are translucent.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk or beef broth, paprika, salt, and pepper until smooth. Pour over the cooked meat and onion.
- In the prepared baking dish, layer the cooked rice, beef mixture, and half of the shredded cheese, mixing gently.
- Top the casserole with the remaining cheddar cheese. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Broil for an extra 2 minutes if desired.
- Let the casserole sit for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes
Freshly grated cheese melts better. Rice must be fully cooked before combining with other ingredients.
